In 2006 I co-organized TECHNE06 Digital Performance Platform with A. Kalem. TECHNE06 was a 6-day art and technology event, which was the first of its kind in Turkey.

“Designing Perception” was the theme of this first event. There were 29 participant artists, 23 of these artists invited from western countries most of which was very well known figures of dance/performance and technology scene. They either exhibited their work or gave seminars or workshops. Some names to mention among them are Johannes Birringer, Scot De Lahunta, Marcel.li Antunez Roca, Armando Menicacci, Emanuele Quinz. Techne’06 consisted of an exhibition of interactive works.

Beside the artist presentations and seminars, we also moderated two working groups with the titles of “Designing Perception” and “Meeting at the Margins: Researcher and Artist” in the EITM Istanbul meeting which took place in the same week.

TECHNE was the first and successful first event in the intersection of arts and technology in Istanbul.
